Lymphatic Drainage for Chronic Fatigue

I have suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome. For me, when I had a flare up I could feel my neck tighten and my voice would go croaky. The other thing I noticed was any kind of exercise left me abnormally exhausted. If I tried running it felt like my chest had been shaken up with all kinds of bugs woken up leaving me feeling quite unwell. It was after years of feeling terrible that I finally diagnosed myself and went to my GP who confirmed I had CFS. So the reason I pushed through with exercise is because we’re all lead to believe it’s the absolute best thing for us and will leave us revitalised. Not so if you have chronic fatigue though!

The main dumping ground for the lymph is the thoracic area (the upper chest) and there are an abundance of lymph nodes in the neck. Now that I understand way more about the lymphatic system, it makes sense to me why my neck felt tight and my chest felt shaken up after running.

I discovered that stress is a drainer for me. I had always worked in multiple jobs at one time and crammed way too much into my schedule whilst also being more or less a full time mum. A huge lesson for me to learn was boundaries. I blocked out negative voices and didn’t feel guilty for the fallout that came!

Sugar is another problem. And caffeine. I’ve not cut these out completely, but at least I know that the spike that comes with them will quickly lead to exhaustion and not really worth it.

Lymphatic drainage is such a gentle technique that pulls and stretches the vessels to encourage the flow of lymph to the lymph nodes. This soft touch is imperative when dealing with delicate conditions like CFS, ME and fibromyalgia.

It’s important to remember that this treatment will continue to work after you’ve left the salon. An aftercare document is attached to your online consultation which you will get automatically when booking. Rest is needed to allow your body to process the toxins. Also lots of warm water and herbal tea to keep your cells well hydrated.

I know from personal experience how crippling and debilitating this condition is. There’s not a lot of understanding (to say the least!) so embarking on your own healing journey of self discovery is the most worthwhile act of self love you can give to yourself.
