Dermaplaning is a simple, safe and relaxing procedure using a scalpel to exfoliate the top layers of skin and remove the tiny peachy fuzz hair. This hair is called Vellus hair. A build up of dirt and oil collecting on these hairs can cause an uneven texture. Removing this hair gives you healthier, brighter looking skin and make up application smoother, giving a flawless complexion due to the products sitting directly onto fresh skin opposed to sticking to the vellus hair.
You may worry that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. As long as it is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.
Thicker (terminal) hair can be waxed or plucked at least 24 hours before the treatment.
